ΜPatterned electrode

The μPatterned electrodes, thanks to their constructive characteristic, with micrometric distance between the tracks, they allow to dispense a electric field limited to the thickness of the epidermis thus stimulating only the Aδ nerve endings, avoiding the simultaneous activation of the Aß fibers located deeper in the skin.
It is thus possible to study the conduction along the nociceptive pathway by recording from the peripheral nerve or scalp overlying the primary sensory cerebral cortex (Nociceptive Evoked Potentials, or NEPs) in an objective manner. Of course it is also possible to record the classics Pain Related Evoked Potentials (PREPs) related event.
